The Municipality of Banga is located in the central plain of Aklan. It is 9 kilometers and around 30 minutes ride from Kalibo, the capital town of the province. By passengers, Ililo City is a 3-hour ride from Banga. From Roxas City, Banga is practically tow and a half hours on bus.

 

The center of the Poblacion of Banga is approximately 11 degrees 38’23.3” longitude and 122 degrees 19’58.9 latitude. Banga is bounded by six (6) municipalities – Kalibo in the north, northeast in New Washington, Balete in the southeast, Madalag in the south, southwest is Malinao and northwest is Lezo.

This small town has repeatedly won national competitions for the "Most Beautiful Town" contests in the country. It is the site of a popular educational institution in the province, the Aklan State University.

 

Among its most notable features is Manduyog were an annual pilgrimage is conducted on Good Friday (Catholic Holy Week) visiting the 14 Stations of the Cross praying the rosary and placing candles at each stop while climbing towards the peak where a large (approx. 40m) and sometimes lighted Cross is located and is visible from due North to Kalibo and the Sea beyond.
